Governance

Leadership

I-ATIC is guided by its Founder & Permanent Chairman and a Permanent Governing Council, led by an Elected Executive Council and supported by a professional Secretariat.

Founding period

Leadership that protects the vision and serves the members.

Permanent leadership safeguards I-ATIC’s Charter, identity and long-term direction. Elected leadership, chosen by eligible members for a three-year term, runs programmes, membership and day-to-day affairs.

Until the first democratic election is conducted, a Founding Governing Committee administers I-ATIC, establishes the initial membership framework, approves the first election regulations and prepares the transition to the Elected Executive Council.

Founder & Permanent Chairman

Custodian of the founding vision.

The Founder is recognised as the Founder and Permanent Chairman of I-ATIC, subject to the final legal structure adopted by the organisation, and provides founding leadership and strategic direction in accordance with the Constitution and bylaws.

The Founder may nominate successors to permanent positions, subject to applicable law and the Constitution.

A continuing role in protecting:

  • The identity of I-ATIC
  • Its international character
  • Its founding objectives
  • Institutional continuity
  • The integrity of its Charter

Permanent Governing Council

Guardians of the Charter.

The PGC is the permanent institutional and strategic body. It protects the Charter, the I-ATIC name and brand, approves fundamental amendments and international chapters, resolves constitutional disputes and reviews the performance of the Elected Executive Council. It meets at least once a year.

The exact number of members may be determined by the Founding Charter.
